More Than Just Skiing in the Stubai Valley

The Stubai Valley has plenty to offer when it comes to action-packed activities. For those looking for an alternative to piste skiing, freeriding in Stubai is highly recommended. Carving through powder off-piste is just as thrilling as venturing into the snowparks, such as the Snowpark Stubai Zoo on the Stubai Glacier or the Stubai Park Schlick 2000.

Ski areas Schlick 2000, Serlesbahnen and Elfer

 

The Schlick 2000 ski area high above Fulpmes town scores with its long, snow-covered valley run, a Funpark on the Sennjochpiste as well as après-ski fun in 10 lodges and huts. The family ski area Serlesbahnen at Mieders and the Elfer cable car in Neustift complete the wide range of options: Carving and snowboarding on perfectly groomed pistes, snowshoeing and Nordic walking or ski touring in pristine terrain are possible, as are horse-drawn sleigh tours or tobogganing by torchlight.

Ski Stubai Glacier

 

At Stubai Glacier, the largest glacier ski area in Austria, the winter season starts as early as mid-September depending on snow conditions. In addition to 110 km of pistes of all difficulty levels, the BIG Family Ski-Camp or a Comfortpiste for families and leisure skiers, the kingdom of snow also provides guaranteed snow conditions from October to June. In the BIG Family Ski-Camp, children can show off their skills on the Boardercross run or at the Murmelebahn chairlift. At the Pieps A.R.T. (Avalanche Rescue Training) station, you can learn to look for people buried under the snow using an avalanche transceiver and probe. Snowboarders will get their money’s worth in the Snowpark DC Stubai Zoo.
